The Dr. Sidney J. Parnes Library and Archival Collection
The Dr. Sidney J. Parnes Library and Archival Collection is first and foremost one of the most — if not the most – comprehensive collection of creativity literature in the world. It was donated in full to SUNY Buffalo State and the Creativity and Change Leadership department by Dr. Sidney J. Parnes. We have since added substantial contributions in the field of creativity from the past 50 years.
As part of this special resource, the Dr. Sidney J. Parnes Applied Imagination Library and Archival Collection also hosts a rich set of artifacts (e.g., Dr. Alex F. Osborn's inventions and speeches, photographs with American presidents, Osborn-Parnes correspondence) and audio recordings of some of the most iconic creativity scholars and practitioners who helped to establish our field of study (e.g., J.P. Guilford, Paul Torrance, Donald MacKinnon, George Prince and other creativity luminaries).
