Matei Schwartz

Adjunct Professor

Matei Schwartz is an experienced strategist, facilitator, and educator. He currently serves as Vice President, Design Thinking Strategy at FCB Health New York and teaches Facilitation, Stakeholder Management, and Teaching and Training Creativity at School of Visual Arts NYC and SUNY Buffalo State University.  

 

At FCB Health — the largest and most awarded single location healthcare marketing agency in the world — Schwartz and his colleagues deliver over 200 facilitated creative problem-solving sessions per year globally, helping the world's largest healthcare agencies innovate in their marketing and communications. Before joining IPG, he worked for some of the world's best design agencies in NYC (e.g., Collins), founded and successfully exited from an award-winning design consultancy in Europe (CNS Factory, now part of RSM Romania), and co-founded the first applied creativity and creative problem-solving conference in Eastern Europe (Rebranding Creativity). He has sat on the global advisory board of World Creativity and Innovation Day and Week and co-founded a professional association with the goal of promoting applied creativity in Romania (Crea-Est). 
 
Mr. Schwartz has over 15 years of experience as a creative professional, entrepreneur, and leader. He holds a Master of Science in Creativity and Change Leadership from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and a Master of Professional Studies in Brand Strategy from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Additionally, he holds professional certifications in Disruptive Strategy (Harvard Business School), Digital Business Strategy (MIT Sloan Executive Education), Blue Ocean Strategy®, Appreciative Inquiry®, and FourSight® Breakthrough Thinking. His scholarly contributions have been published by Elsevier and Oxford University Press (in press). In 2021, he was proudly awarded the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence and the Mary Murdock Creative Spirit Award.
