Dr. Sidney and Beatrice Parnes Creativity Collection
The Dr. Sidney and Bea Parnes Creativity Collection is designed as an inspiring gateway to the ideas, people, and practices that shaped—and continue to shape—the global creative education movement. Building on Buffalo State University’s long-standing leadership in creativity studies, this space brings together one of the most extensive and specialized collections of books on creativity and creative problem solving in the world—more than 5,000 volumes—alongside rare archival materials from pioneers such as Alex F. Osborn, Sidney Parnes, and other foundational figures in the field. Complemented by small-group spaces for creative collaboration, the Collection reflects the Center for Applied Imagination’s role as both a pioneer and an international epicenter for creativity research, education, and practice—offering students, scholars, and practitioners a uniquely immersive environment where the history, theory, and application of creative thinking converge to inspire future innovation.
